Trust is essential to our daily lives and to our democracies, from the way we treat others to how we participate in society and from our means of getting information to our willingness to rely on institutions. Whether reflecting on online harms or fake news, personal profiling or the unbridled power of artificial intelligence, access to services or political targeting technology, the current crisis of confidence in technology is impacting the way we trust. Are we living in an era of heightened cynicism and fragmentation? If so, what is technologies part in this and what can we do about it?
This talk will be the starting point for the the Ideation Lab focusing on the Future of Trust. Developed and facilitated in cooperation with the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
