The Law and Norms of Cyberspace – Why Should We Trust That States Will Do What They Say at the UN?
Short thesis
The Geopolitics Ideation Labs provide a stimulating and hands-on work space to dive deeper into the questions brought up by the panel Digital Revolution: Resetting Global Power Politics? The labs are facilitated by foreign policy experts from the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP).
Description
This lab will look at the law, norms and rules that govern international relations in cyber space. Do we have – or how can we build - confidence that states will respect them? What institutions and procedures do we have at hand in Europe and in Latin America? Do they differ, and if so, what does that mean? Should we think “confidence” regionally, or can we go universal?
