Marisa von Bülow

Marisa von Bülow is a political science professor at the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and a fellow at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg. She is also a member of the Carnegie Civic Research Network, an international network of leading experts on civic activism. Her research analyzes the impacts of digitalization on political life. More specifically, how has the process of incorporation of new digital technologies changed activism and the organization of collective action? How has it affected the way societies discuss politics and take key decisions? She has published several books and articles on digitalization and social movements in Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and Argentina.
