Hito Steyerl’s prolific filmmaking and writing occupies a highly discursive position between the fields of art, philosophy and politics, constituting a deep exploration of late capitalism’s social, cultural and financial imaginaries. Her films and lectures have increasingly addressed the presentational context of art, while her writing has circulated widely through publication in both academic and art journals, often online. Hitos work has been presented in numerous exhibitions, among them the Biennale in Venice, Museum of Contemporay Art, Los Angeles, and Museum of Modern Art, New York. Hito Steyerl lives and works in Berlin.

Hito Steyerl ist Filmemacherin und Autorin. Ihre Arbeiten nehmen eine diskursive Position an der Schnittstelle von Kunst, Philosophie und Politik ein und erforschen die sozialen, kulturellen und finanziellen Implikationen des Spätkapitalismus sowie den Präsentationskontext der Kunst. Ihre Schriften wurden in zahlreichen akademischen Zeitschriften und Kunstmagazinen veröffenlicht, ihre Werke international ausgestellt, unter anderem auf der Biennale in Venedig, im Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, und im Museum of Modern Art, New York. Hito Steyerl lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.
